For the second year running, topics has published its Observatory on the Transformation of Work conducted by OpinionWay. The study crosses the views of employees, managers and staff representatives from large companies on the changes in work.

The good news is that the link to work remains strong but needs to be regenerated…

Almost all employees (88%) and managers (94%) consider work to be a major part of their life balance, and a quarter of them even consider it to be very important.

In terms of the definition of work itself, employees and managers feel that it should be meaningful and personally satisfying. More managers also believe that work should allow them to develop their skills and knowledge.

Work is seen above all as a duty, an action for the group and a meaningful process by both employees and managers, although one third of managers see it as a freedom.

Similarly, they see personal fulfilment and achievement as the most valuable aspect of their work (23%). On the employee side, it is pay (22%).
